If there is one brand that is already the odd one among all other brands, it Meistersinger. With their single hand watches, they stand out. People either love them of hate them, for sure the first are represented in greater numbers. Where others only seem to go bigger, Meistersinger comes with a smaller Phanero on stage and makes a big entrance!!!
We have all seen them around the past years. the sleek elegant designs from the hand of Manfred Brassler. Last year at BaselWorld we could welcome a bigger version of the Salthora. This Salthora Meta was a big success.
This Year a complete new model appears on stage, the Meistersinger Phanero. This model is a so called unisex and therefore doesnt wear a label, made for men or women. It comes in a variety of colours, which in our opinion all look great.
The Case is made of Stainless Steel with a very nice high and matt polish work on it. The lugs are very robust in compare to the case which is the most slender model offered by Meistersinger. With its 35 mm diameter and height of 7.5 mm it’s a very subtle design.
The back of the case has a so called, quadruply bolted exhibition back on it. A very slim stainless steel rim enclosures a big sapphir which shows the movement.
The crown is as with all the other models decorated with the Meistersinger brand logo.
Their is a variety of colours which all have their own look and feel to them. One thing that is a very big plus to the looks of this watch are the hour applications. They give the dial so much more depth and lets be honest its a thing normally used by the more expensive brands.
The ivory dial, has a blued hand and blued hour appliqués. The others all have a sunburst dail, two in anthracite, green and blue. These all have a ivory hand. Green and Blue dial also have ivory appliqués. The Anthracite models have either gold or red appliqués. Brand logo and model name are black on the ivory and ivory on the others.
The Sunburst dials give a very nice touch to the watches. With the change of light the colours change to. The blue introduced last year is changing from black to very bright blue. This year the Rensing Green is introduced on this and also other models of Meistersinger. It has the seem effect as the blue one, changing from almost black into a very warm green.
Rensing Green is named after one of the staff members of Meistersinger. Nico Rensing came up with the idea to make a green version.
All models have their own strap in style of the dial color.
Instead of using one of the Sellita SW-200 automatic movements, they choose to go a bit more old school and went for the SW-210-1. This handwound movement is decorated very nice. the top bridge is decorated with a so called Anglage or beveling. The base platine has a Perlage or Circular Graining to it. Also the ratchet and the crown wheel has been decorated.
The power reserve of this movement is 42 hours when fully wounded.
Yes we would. This model looks like a million. With its sleek design is would easily fit a women arm, but would also be a good time companion to man. The new colour Rensing Green looks traditional and sporty. The classic looks of the Ivory of the Anthracite with gold would look great with a suit. Sporty looks with the Anthracite Red combo and our all time favorite Blue looks good in all situations.
We are Mechanical Watch lovers and are thrilled that this watch has a hand wound movement inside. This with the new dial with the appliqués makes it a big yes for us.
